Get Outta Here (& Take Your Data)
The Bleach Screen™ (jk it's the export thingy) is where you yeet your chosen bop or setlist into whatever bleepin' file format the internet demands these days. Besides lettin' you pick WHERE to dump your files & HOW to format 'em, this screen is basically your personal roadie for output shenanigans. When you're finally done tweakin', tap the Go Forth & Export button in the upper right corner to export & maybe upload your stuff to the cloud (or your grandma's hard drive, we don't judge). Tap Nope, Never Mind in the upper left to bail out & pretend this never happened.
OnSong is all "lemme just grab the song you're literally starin' at right now" for export, but obvs you can totally change your mind in the What Do You Even Want? menu.
Where TF Is My File Going?
Your chosen dumpin' ground shows up here, but hey, you can pick a different spot if you're feelin' spicy. Poke around in folders & choose where to throw your stuff. Options include: OnSong® Drive (aka The Cloud™), Dropbox (aka Jeff's Hard Drive), File Sharing (aka Vibes), Files (aka That Folder You Forgot About), Google Drive (aka Google Knows Everything), etc.
How Your File Gonna Look
Here's what's about to blast outta your device & which settings are gonna ruin it for you. Tweak how the files export here. Have fun with that.
Pick Your Format, King/Queen
Time to choose how you want this thing to look when it hits the real world. We're talkin' the formats y\u{2019}all actually care about:
- Adobe PDF — basically the only way to make your stuff look decent on paper without cryin' into your phone.
- OnSong® Archive — the flex format for braggin' to other OnSong® nerds. It's got EVERYTHING—the whole song, your messy notes, your questionable style choices, & all your settings locked in like your diary but make it shareable.
- OnSong® Text — literally just what you see in the editor, no cap. If you send this to some other app, it's gonna lose all your fancy annotations & style stuff, so... RIP those choices.
- Plain Ol' Text File — basically OnSong® Text's boring cousin who uses the boring *.txt thing & cares more about chords than your actual lyrics. Stripped down. No frills. No vibes.
Nerdy File Formats (Hidden by Default Because They\u{2019}re Chaotic)
These are tucked away since they\u{2019}re kinda a hot mess. But flip on Show all available file formats if you\u{2019}re feelin' adventurous & you\u{2019}ll see the OG formats includin':
- OpenSong — a format some open-source weirdos actually use. Respect.
- HTML File — throw it in your web browser & pretend you\u{2019}re a developer. So aesthetic.
- Song List — literally just a list of songs from your export zone, but make it HTML. Stunning. Groundbreaking.
- OnSong® Backup — a compressed file that\u{2019}s basically your entire library\u{2019}s life story. Nuke it onto another device & BOOM, full restoration. It\u{2019}s like a time machine, but for your music.
